Rather than wait until we are well into the construction season to think about quality achievement, this year we starting to think about it NOW! The CAPA Awards program is OPEN FOR BUSINESS. The Nomination Form and the Awards Criteria have been set for the 20th Annual “Best in Colorado” Asphalt Pavement Awards Program. We have clarified a number of award program elements and have increased the emphasis given to Project Size & Complexity. All nominations are due no later than Friday, October 25.
Congratulations to Martin Marietta Materials and Douglas County as recipients of the 2012 “Best in Colorado” Residential Subdivision. Project Description: The project included a portion of the 55,000 ton annual asphalt overlay program in Douglas County. Mix used was a SX 75 PG 64-22, at 20% RAP. The work consisted of 72 lane miles of paving, 308,000 square yards of milling, and the improvement of 105 individual roads in the county. Project time was 105 days and completed in 70 days. "EDUCATION CENTER NEWS"
The RMAEC becomes an official WIN (Workforce Initiative Now) provider. Those contractors who work or are under contract to RTD in any capacity are required by their contract to seek continuing education. The RMAEC will work with any and all contractors, suppliers, engineers and others to help supplement the requirement for continuing education. This training can be one of our regularly scheduled training sessions held at the RMAEC or a session personalized for your company. To learn more about the WIN program contact Cindy Rutkoski

The Rocky Mountain Asphalt Education Center is pleased to offer Asphalt Technician “Come to You” Training Sessions to help facilitate and promote education in the asphalt industry. We also desire to defer the cost of education, training and preparation for certification classes to our association members and partner Agencies.
